Infertility Therapy

Are you trying to conceive, undergoing fertility treatments or navigating a loss? Are you unsure where to even start or overwhelmed managing all the appointments and learning the new medical jargon? I can help.

I have personal experience with infertility and have been lucky enough to be able to have two kids through IVF.

Getting pregnant and having a baby is supposed to be easy and one of the best, happiest and most fulfilling times of our lives, right? Not exactly…sometimes, not even close. Many people struggle in silence. The reality is that infertility can be a deeply emotional experience which often results in feelings of anger, guilt, shame, sadness and frustration. Grief is also common as we grieve the loss of the idealized path to parenthood, the heartbreak of a miscarriage and/or failed fertility treatments.

For most of our lives we are faced with messages often telling us (and scaring us into) how easy it is to get pregnant. And for some people, it is. But for others (myself included) the road to parenthood looks a lot different-filled with all sorts of twists and turns, we never could have been prepared for.

Going through infertility impacts every aspect of your life-emotionally, physically, socially, financially–often in negative ways. But that’s where I come in.

I work with clients experiencing:

• Difficulty conceiving or unexplained infertility
• Emotional distress related to IVF, IUI, or fertility treatments
• Pregnancy loss or recurrent miscarriage
• Secondary infertility
• Stress, anxiety, or depression related to infertility
• Relationship strain during fertility treatment
• Decision-making around next steps or alternative family-building paths

Infertility therapy is inclusive of all genders, sexual orientations, and family structures.

I offer a safe place to express and process these emotions–ALL the emotions. As someone who has been on the other side, I get it and understand most (though not all) of the medical jargon and understand the strong desire to be able to become a part or expand your family when you’re doing everything “right” but it’s still not happening.

Infertility therapy or fertility counselling can help address the emotional, psychological and relational aspects of dealing with infertility. I offer compassionate, evidence-based therapy for infertility that honours the complexity of this experience. Our work together will focus on emotional support, coping strategies, and helping you navigate uncertainty with greater clarity and self-compassion.

Depending on your needs, infertility therapy may include:

• Processing grief, loss, and disappointment
• Managing anxiety and emotional overwhelm
• Coping with medical stress and treatment fatigue
• Strengthening communication and connection with your partner
• Exploring identity, meaning, and self-worth beyond fertility
• Support around difficult decisions and next steps

Infertility can strain even strong relationships. I work with individuals as well as couples to support emotional connection, communication, and shared coping during fertility challenges. Therapy can help partners feel more aligned and less alone in this process.

Infertility counselling can help you:
• Feel less isolated and more supported
• Develop healthier coping strategies
• Reduce anxiety and emotional distress
• Improve communication and relationship resilience
• Reconnect with your values and sense of self

Whether you are trying to conceive at home or through a fertility clinic, decided to move on from treatments or take a break, I am here to support you, answer your questions and navigate the complex emotions and decisions that you are going through.

You don’t have to suffer alone. If you are looking for an infertility therapist in Markham or Pickering or want to do sessions over the phone or video, I invite you to reach out.
